BMW has introduced an M Sport variant of the 520d, with prices starting at Rs 54 lakh (ex-showroom, pan India). BMW India now has five variants of the 5 Series including the fully imported 520i and the 530d M Sport.

The roadster is the first AMG model to get the ‘43’ label in its name and it uses a smaller engine than its predecessor. While the SLK used a 5.5-litre V8 engine, the SLC43 tones things down and employs a 3.0-litre, twin-turbo V6 instead. The new engine produces 367PS of power and a peak torque of 520Nm. The output is channelled through a 9-speed automatic gearbox (with paddle-shifters) to the rear wheels, and Mercedes-Benz claims the new roadster can pull off the 0-100kmph sprint in 4.7 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 250kmph. The AMG SLC43 will be a direct import. Rivals include Audi TT and BMW Z4.

3. Ford Mustang

The muscle car features a 5.0-litre, Ti-VCT V8 engine which churns out 401PS of power and 515Nm of torque. This potent engine is mated to a 6-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox. This power is enough for the driver to have his moment of fame in any street light drag or the occasional visit to the racing circuit. Features include four selectable drive modes (normal, sport, sport+ and snow/wet), electronic line-lock (a tech aid to help pull off a clean burnout), electronic stability control (ESC) and traction control. You also get a touchscreen infotainment system, Ford MyKey, keyless entry and a push-button start/stop system.

4. Rolls-Royce Dawn

  • Price – 6.2 Cr (Ex-showroom Delhi)
  • Mileage – 9.2 kmpl

The powerful RR will be getting the de-tuned engine of the fastest RR ever – the Wraith. Linked to an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission, it’s a 6.6-litre turbo-charged V12 motor that belts out a whopping 570PS of max power and peak torque of 780Nm. It does the naught to 100kmph in mere 4.9 seconds. Based on the Wraith platform, it is designed from scratch.

5. Porsche 911

The mid-variant Carrera S gets up-tuned engine generating 420PS and 500Nm of torque while the top end, 911 Turbo is bestowed with an updated 3.8-litre mill that chuck out 540PS of top power. Besides, the interior gets a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports navigation and Apple CarPlay.
